Subject: Search for Barbie Day 8
It has been a week since Barbie left.
Last night, it rained pretty much right through until dark. I went door to door visiting all the houses in the vicinity of the 4H fairgrounds, but no one had seen Barbie. Some hunter had 3 young beagles in rabbit cages on stilts in his yard, and I carefully peeked in to see if he was keeping Barbie there too -- but she was not there.
I've received some calls in response to the flyers/radio/newspaper advertisements, but all were dead ends.
This morning I went to vote, and got the ladies at the polling place to agree to put the neon brightly colored posters on the table where the voters check in. Because I couldn't make it to all the other polling places, I roped a neighbor into putting posters at the other polls.
I drove up and down the alleyways again, and also on the other side of State Road 15 / 9.
Beasley is grieving heavily, and refuses to play with his favorite chew toys. I feel so bad for him, and give him lots of hugs, cuddles, and treats -- but he just doesn't understand where his Barbie went.
The local Cable company has agreed to put up a blurb about Barbie on their Community Calender, so on my lunch hour I'll be going down to talk with them about possibly airing a public service announcement as well -- I don't know if they'll be receptive, but it's worth a try!
I just *know* she has to be around here somewhere. It's just a matter of finding out who has her, and making them give her back to me.
