Subject: Search for Barbie Day 7
Today it's raining here in Marion Indiana. I can see the raindrops splashing in the puddles that have formed in the parking lot outside my office. Barbie hasn't been returned to me yet, and I am hoping that she has at least found shelter from this storm.
I made my calls to the radio stations this morning, and for a few heartstopping minutes I thought someone had found her! Someone had heard the radio announcement, and seen the newspaper ad, and thought the radio announcement was saying that there was a beagle *found*. She connected the dots, added 2 + 2 and come up with 5. If only she had been right, I would be jumping up and down right now, happily cuddling my sweet little girl.
Someone had called last night saying that two female beagles had been found in a small town just about 10 miles west of Marion, so I followed up on that lead -- they had both been claimed earlier by their owners. I'm happy for the owner, but I would love to be in her shoes, with my beag-girl back home again.
On my lunch break, I'll be bringing more flyers around, and visiting the local shelter again. They have a beagle at the shelter, but from their description she just doesn't sound like Barbie. For my sake as well as for Barbies sake, I need to follow up on all possible leads though.
One of the girls here at work is willing to print out the digital photos I took of Barbie just days before she disappeared, so that the police have accurate up to date pictures for their files.
Until Barbie returns home to me, I just won't feel like I've done everything possible.
