Subject: Search for Barbie Day 42
This morning, I got a call from a lady who had been camping up at the Mississinewa reservoir over the weekend. They'd seen a beagle at the campgrounds, and the DNR people had been trying to catch and identify it. Although the color of the collar doesn't match what Barbie was wearing, I called the DNR office anyway, and gave them information to help identify Barbie if the dog they've sighted is her.
After a lot of internal struggle, I decided to place Meggin the little lost beagle with a nice family who work at the University with me. At their home Meggin will be the only pet, and will get the undivided attention and love she so desperately needs. I'm pleased with this placement, but her departure does leave a void in my heart.
Beasley is sitting on the couch snoozing. I wonder what he thinks of all this!
I wish Barbie would come home so things could return to "normal". Short of that, I just wish I could know that she's ok. I hate to think of her whelping a litter on her own if she's come into season and bred to one of the local dogs.
