Subject: Search for Barbie Day 39

Good News! (hopefully, at least.) According to the police investigator, the girl's story about the boys who allegedly beat a beagle to death may not be true after all. The officer will follow up by questioning the girl about what she saw.

I got a call on my answering machine at home from a lady who said she saw a beagle near the 4H fairgrounds again. Unfortunately, the call came in just as I was leaving work and I didn't check my voicemail until almost an hour and half later. As soon as I did get the message, I went to the fairgrounds and searched, but there was no sign of Barbie. By that time the dog could have been anywhere.

On the way home from work, I picked up a big bag of cheap dog food, and I'll be putting food out at set times every day for the next few days in the hope of getting a sighting of the group of dogs that have been rumored to hang out at the West end of Spencer Avenue. There's no guarantee that Barbie is with that group, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Meggin peed on the floor again this evening. I've got to get her used to telling me when she wants to go out. Maybe her barking and potty problems are part of the reason her owners haven't contacted me to get her back. Judging by her activity level and the way she behaves, I'm beginning to think she's younger than I initially had thought. I'd be very surprised if she's much over a year old.

She does inspire Beasley to play though!
