Subject: Search for Barbie Day 37
Well, today was another roller-coaster ride.
Around noon I got another call from yet another lady who was absolutely sure that she'd caught Barbie for me. She and her kids were waiting for me on their front porch with the dog and I chatted with her for a few minutes after letting her know that the dog wasn't Barbie. I showed her a color picture of Barbie and she'll still be keeping her eyes out in her neighborhood.
As soon as I got back to the office I got another call -- this time from a man who'd seen an ad in a store in a town about 20 miles away... I called the lady who's number was listed in the advertisement, and it turned out to be a tri-colored coon hound.
I look at this sweet little lost dog (Meggin) sitting on my couch, and just can't make myself accept her for herself. When I look at her all I see is what she *isn't* -- she isn't Barbie. It's so completely unfair to compare her to Barbie, but I can't seem to help it. I was so upset with myself about this that I just cried and cried.
Guess I've been doing a lot of that lately.
