Subject: Search for Barbie Day 33
Today was a great day to be out looking for Barbie.
At just after 11:00, Liz Doughty arrived with Ben the beagle. Shortly after that Diann and her husband arrived with Jimmy their beagle. So including me with Beasley and John with Cody, we all went out on foot down the alleyways towards the other end of town.
I'm sure we were quite the sight kind of like "beagles on parade". We talked with a lot of people who I would not have been able to reach otherwise. One indigent illiterate man who roams all over town would never have heard about Barbie if it wasn't for our trek today.
I didn't really like hearing one man who told me that in his neighborhood the people would be very likely to have taken any nice looking stray dog and sold it for drug money. I don't know who in their right mind would do such a thing, but then again people on drugs do a lot of things that are beyond my comprehension.
Most people were willing to at least listen to us as we talked with them about Barbie and asked them to keep their eyes out for her.
As soon as we got back to my house, it started raining, and our little group disbanded. It was great to have Liz and Diann over with their puppers, and if nothing else we did at least get the word out to some people who may not have already known about Barbie. I would not have been able to go to some of the neighborhoods we went to today on my own and I'm so grateful for the help.
It's still raining, and I'm hoping that Barbie is safe from the storm.
