Subject: Search for Barbie Day 31

I got another "false alarm" again this morning. One of my field beagle contacts called saying that a hunter had dropped two beagles off at his kennel this week, and he thought the female might be Barbie! I rushed right over to see. Wow, what a lot of beagles he has. He even has a 5 acre area stocked with rabbits for his beagles to chase! Beagles are a full time hobby with him.

Unfortunately, the little female wasn't Barbie, but she looked sweet and I know he'll find a good home for her. This particular man takes in beagles that haven't been good hunters (or whatever reason the previous owners give) and either keeps and cares for them or finds new homes for them. His place is kind of like a big beagle sanctuary.

I also contacted the man who at one time was the "dog warden" for the county. He was very nice to talk with, and said that if I could narrow Barbie's whereabouts down to a particular area, he'd be glad to help me set a live trap for her.

Today was my day to work the odd shift, so I was at the office long after everyone else had gone home. I sat at my desk and looked at Barbie's picture and just cried. I've been able to pretty much hold it together most of the time, but I just simply fell apart.

It would be so much easier if I could just know Barbie is ok.
