Subject: Search for Barbie Day 29
Well, today got off to quite the early start, with calls starting to come in at 8:30 am about a beagle that a very nice older lady saw cavorting through her neighborhood just north of my house. I quickly went to check things out, and found a very joyful young field beagle jumping and running through the yards after something or other. Boy oh boy was it every having fun.
Too bad it wasn't Barbie!
In short order after that I got three additional calls about the same beagle! So cool that people are keeping their eyes open for Barbie, although it is disappointing that the beagle wasn't her.
On my lunch hour I ran to the Humane Society again to check and see if they'd snuck Barbie in without telling me. She wasn't there, but I really had to see for myself.
I got another call after work, this one from a lady in Gas City who had seen a beagle running down the alleyway. Beasley and I went to check things out and ran around for an hour checking here there and everywhere in that area, but came away with nothing to show for it.
It's so frustrating to me to go out looking again and again and find other dogs (or *no* dogs), but not Barbie. At this point it just doesn't make any sense to me that although everyone I talk to has seen the flyers and posters, Barbie still remains lost.
I'm still praying for a miracle.
